Pepe Escobar: “This is a war of terror on civilians, that's being legitimimized by the Americans.”
The attack they were discussing occurred on June 23, 2024, when pieces from a Ukrainian ATACMS that was supplied by the US were used to carry out the deadly attack.
Highly respected Brazilian journalist Pepe Escobar was interviewed in a segment posted on June 26th 2024, On"Dialogue Works", by Nima Alkhorshid.
The pair of journalists discussed the recent attack on Crimea, which resulted in the death of at least 5 innocent people and injured over 150.
The first question Nima asked was about the strategy behind this attack.
“There was no strategy or tactic; this is a war of terror. It was decided by the people running this war, who are, of course, in Washington and Brussels, and Kyiv is basically the laptop implementing the orders,” responded the renowned geopolitical analyst.
"Sunday here in Russia was a Christian Orthodox holiday, a very important day when people go out with their families and celebrate in parks and on beaches, like in Sevastopol," he added.
The attack they were discussing occurred on June 23, 2024, when pieces from a Ukrainian ATACMS that was supplied by the US were used to carry out the deadly attack.
A very important thing to note is that there are no military targets in that area, not even from the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, which is why this is being referred to as a "deliberate attack on civilians."
"There is an airport nearby that could have been the theoretical target, but since nobody uses this airport, it was clearly an attack on civilians. This is a war of terror on civilians, legitimized by the Americans," Pepe Escobar strongly suggested.
Given that American intelligence, reconnaissance, and surveillance were gathered by a Global Hawk drone seen in the area just before the attack, and that this drone provided the coordinates for the missile launch, Russian officials immediately blamed the Americans.
Some experts believe that Vladimir Putin will not react to this provocation but will instead intensify the mission in Ukraine. However, many Russians are unhappy with the de-escalation and prefer a stronger response.
